What Jardín Paraíso is

Jardín Paraíso is an open-air bar at Calle Querétaro 202 in Roma Norte, Mexico City. The name is the description: a garden, planted heavily with palms, screened off from the street so that walking in feels like stepping out of the city rather than deeper into it.

It has two personalities and the hour decides which one you get. Early in the evening it is a calm place to sit outside under a palm with a beer, and when a major football match is on, screens go up and the garden fills with people watching in daylight. Later it becomes a dance floor with live DJs, a crowd that arrives around 22:00 and, on a good night, people dancing on the tables.

The look is deliberately tropical rather than minimal, described in local coverage as tropical crossed with urban, with reference points somewhere between a 1980s Miami club and a Havana garden bar. It is listed as a club on Resident Advisor as well as turning up in restaurant and bar guides, and The Infatuation files it under live music, sitting outside and being seen.

How a night works

The timeline matters more here than the menu does.

  • Early evening, from around 18:00 or 19:00: the garden is a bar. Tables under the palms, a beer or a cocktail, conversation still possible.
  • Match days: screens go up for major fixtures and the garden becomes a daytime viewing spot.
  • From about 22:00: it fills. Foursquare tips and local guides both put the crush between 22:00 and 23:00.
  • After 23:00: DJ sets take over and the garden functions as a dance floor.
  • After about 01:00: entry runs off a list. Without a reservation or a name on it, getting in is uncertain.
  • On the DJ nights: some listings run it to 03:00.

What to expect

I filmed here in June 2026, during the World Cup, when the garden was set up for watching matches in the afternoon and turned over to a Latin dance floor once the games finished. The caption I wrote at the time had one piece of advice that is the same advice I would still give: come early, or reserve, because it packs out fast.

On the drinks side the bar runs cocktails, including tropical-leaning house drinks and margaritas, with bottle service for tables. Food is not the reason anyone goes.

What it costs

Jardín Paraíso does not publish a price list. These are the figures that appear in Mexico City nightlife listings in 2026. Prices move, and a weekend night costs more than a Tuesday.

ItemPrice
Average spend per person, drinks400 to 600 MXN, about 22 to 33 USD
Cocktailsmid range for Roma Norte
Bottle servicefrom around 1,500 MXN, about 82 USD
Cover chargenone published, entry by list in the small hours
Valet parkingoffered, tipped separately

The way the money works here is that an early evening costs a normal bar bill, while a late weekend arrival tends to cost a table. If you want to be inside after 01:00 on a Saturday, the reservation is the price of entry rather than an optional extra.

How to book

  • Instagram: @_jardinmx is the working channel for tables, guest list and the night’s programming. It is also where hours and events are posted, which matters because the third-party listings disagree.
  • Phone: listings carry more than one number for the venue, including +52 55 1387 2747. Message on Instagram if the number does not answer.
  • Timing: book several days ahead for Friday or Saturday. Midweek is easier.
  • Without a booking: arrive before 22:00 and you will almost certainly get in. After 01:00 you are relying on the list or the doorman.

Getting there

  • Address: Calle Querétaro 202, colonia Roma Norte, 06700 Cuauhtémoc, Mexico City.
  • Metro: Insurgentes on Line 1 is about a ten-minute walk. Hospital General on Line 3 is roughly the same.
  • Metrobús: the Álvaro Obregón and Sonora stops on Line 1 along Insurgentes are both walkable.
  • On foot: Querétaro sits in the southern half of Roma Norte, about ten minutes from Plaza Río de Janeiro and fifteen from the Fuente de Cibeles.
  • Valet parking: offered at the venue, which is the easier option on Querétaro.
  • Going home: it is a late venue in a central neighbourhood, so order a ride hail from inside rather than walking to find one.

Before you go

  • Come early or reserve. This is the single most useful thing to know about Jardín Paraíso. It fills by about 22:00.
  • It is open to the sky. In the rainy season, June to September, an evening here can be cut short by weather.
  • Dress up a little. Casual to semi-formal, and the door does exercise judgement.
  • Think about your shoes. It is a garden floor, not a dance floor.
  • Check the night’s music. The programming swings between reggaeton and Latin sets and house or hip-hop nights.
  • Eat first. Food is not the point here. Fuego and Fran Ultramarinos are both a short walk away in Roma Norte.
  • Check the hours before you go. The hours on this page come from the venue’s public listings, which drift, so confirm on Google Maps or the venue’s own channels before a special trip.

Frequently asked questions

Where is Jardín Paraíso in Mexico City?+

Jardín Paraíso is at Calle Querétaro 202, colonia Roma Norte, 06700 Cuauhtémoc, Mexico City. Querétaro runs east to west through the southern half of Roma Norte, so it is a quieter street than Colima or Álvaro Obregón. Insurgentes Metro on Line 1 is about a ten-minute walk and Hospital General on Line 3 is similar.

What are Jardín Paraíso's opening hours?+

Listings do not agree, which is normal for a venue that is a bar early and a club late. One set of hours gives evening service from 18:00 or 19:00 until around midnight most days, another gives Thursday to Saturday from 22:00 to 03:00 for the DJ nights. Check @_jardinmx for the night you want, especially if you are going for the late session.

How much does a night at Jardín Paraíso cost?+

Listings put the average spend at 400 to 600 MXN per person, roughly 22 to 33 US dollars, for drinks. Bottle service starts at around 1,500 MXN. There is no published cover charge, but entry works off a list in the small hours, so the practical cost of a late arrival can be a table reservation rather than a ticket.

Do I need a reservation at Jardín Paraíso?+

For a table, yes, and days in advance for a weekend. Jardín Paraíso fills between 22:00 and 23:00, and after about 01:00 entry runs off a list. The simplest route is to arrive early in the evening while it is still a garden bar, or to book a table through Instagram at @_jardinmx.

What is the dress code at Jardín Paraíso?+

Casual to semi-formal. It is an outdoor garden rather than a formal room, so nobody expects a jacket, but the door does turn people away and the crowd dresses up more than at a neighbourhood cantina. Bear in mind that the floor is a garden, so heels and grass are a combination to think about.

What music do they play at Jardín Paraíso?+

It varies by night. Reggaeton and Latin sets are a large part of the identity, and listings also name house, future house, electro, pop and hip-hop, plus versatile DJ nights that run through salsa, cumbia, funk, soul and afrobeat. Jardín Paraíso is listed as a club on Resident Advisor as well as as a bar, which tells you how seriously the DJ programming is taken.

Can you watch football at Jardín Paraíso?+

Yes, screens go up for major matches and the garden is one of the Roma Norte places people pick for a game in daylight, which is what it was doing when I filmed in June 2026 during the World Cup. It is not a permanent sports bar, so check the Instagram account for whether a specific match is being shown.

Is Jardín Paraíso indoors or outdoors?+

Outdoors. Jardín Paraíso is an open-air garden with palms and heavy tropical planting, which is the reason the place works: you step off a Roma Norte street straight into what feels like a jungle courtyard. The trade-off is weather. From June to September, the Mexico City rainy season, an evening there can be interrupted.
